Wellington Walks

Mt Wellington Walks' aim is to offer a truly Tasmanian, premium bush-walking experience to anyone who desires it - without hassle. Our tours are specifically designed for people who want to experience the Tasmanian Wilderness on a personal level, but don't have the time to do a multi day trek. Our aim is to make the Tasmanian Wilderness experience for our clients as easy, as individualised and as accessible as possible.

Who or What is Adventure Planet?

Mt Wellington Walks is owned by Adventure Planet. Adventure Planet is the union of Skydive Tasmania, Derwent Bike Hire and Mt Wellington Walks. All three businesses are 100% Tasmanian owned and operated, carbon offset and Tourism Accredited. Richard Timperon is the Managing Director of Adventure Planet, and it is his visions and enthusiasm for adventure which drive the company forward and upward. Adventure Planet promotes the values of Sustainable Australian Travel and Eco-Tourism:

"Ecotourism is ecologically sustainable tourism with a primary focus on experiencing natural areas that fosters environmental and cultural understanding, appreciation and conservation."

The Team

All of the team here at Mt Wellington Walks are passionately devoted to the Tasmanian Wilderness; its beauty, uniqueness, its unspoiled connection to its past, its complex ecosystem and its serenity. It is our good fortune that we are able to run a business that promotes the very thing which inspires us - we love Tasmania!

Educating the People

Guiding groups of people through the bush is an ideal time to educate people about the importance of the bush, conservation, pollution, our Aboriginal history, our different plant and animal species and the best way to treat the bush whilst you are visiting it. We take pride in creating an experience which is not only fun and active but education as well.

Employment Opportunities

As Mt Wellington Walks is rapidly expanding, we are on the look-out for experienced Tour Guides. Guides must have a minimum 2 years experience in Guiding, a current First Aid certificate, Public Passenger Vehicle license, and a Light Rigid driving license is an advantage. Guides must be very friendly and willing to go that extra mile. They must be passionate about the Tasmanian Wilderness, Mt Wellington in particular, and be willing to learn as much about the area as possible, if they don't already know.
